“I had the honor and privilege of driving thoroughbred owners Robert and Beverly Lewis, who won the Kentucky Derby twice.”

“Would have to be hosting Penny Chenery, owner of the immortal Secretariat. We talked about her bourbons of choice as well as her legendary race horse. An experience I shall never forget.”

“Getting to meet Steve Cauthen with a group and listening to him speak about winning the Triple Crown and learning how to drink bourbon from Fred Noe.”

“I saw the entire Bourbon Trail in 36 hours with a bunch of sweaty people. Ok, runners, for the Bourbon Chase. We were glad to finish. We weren’t first, but we weren’t last either!”

“When I was just a young boy sitting on the front porch of our farm house on a summers’ evening, the sun setting, and watching the colors change in the sky. This is a great place to relax and focus on the important things in life.”

“If you have never been to Kentucky I think some people stereotype what it is like.  I love when first timers come in and fall in love with our horses, the history and beauty of our bourbon industry, the vitality of Louisville and the warmth of our people.”

“Beyond MJT, I’m also a high school history teacher. The history of Kentucky, especially distilling and horses, is a very unique and interesting one. Every time I step into a warehouse full of aging bourbon, I feel connected to that rich history.”

“Every day in this line of work is a new and memorable experience.  The one that stands out in my mind the most is the 2016 KDA Bourbon Sampler at last years Bourbon Festival.  To talk with all of the legends of the industry in one place, in such an informal setting is priceless.”

I’ve been a beer drinker my entire adult life, and the last time I drank a drop of bourbon before joining Mint Julep Tours was in college, so my most memorable bourbon experience is when I realized that I really like bourbon and that I had been missing out all those years!

“Spending a day with our guests is so much fun for me.  Our tours really bring out the fun and happiness in them and I get to watch that unfold while I guide them through some of them most beautiful scenery in the world.  It is a low stress day for our guests and I know they do not get days like this that often so I try to make it as awesome as I can for them.”
