Every September, we gear up for one of our favorite times of the yearā€”Bourbon Heritage Month, a celebration that perfectly blends Kentuckyā€™s rich bourbon-making history with the fun, flavor, and flair that weā€™re known for. As the company that truly does it all, we invite you to join us in experiencing the spirit of Kentucky like never before. Recognized by the U.S. Senate in 2007, Bourbon Heritage Month pays tribute to the traditions that have been passed down through generations. With our deep expertise and exclusive partnerships, weā€™ll take you on a journey through the heart of bourbon country, where the magic of distilling began in the late 18th century and continues to thrive today.

Throughout September, Kentucky is buzzing with bourbon-inspired events, and with us, youā€™ll have the inside track to all the action. Whether youā€™re joining one of our ticketed bourbon tours from Louisville or customizing your own adventure, weā€™ve got you covered.

The Kentucky Bourbon Festival in Bardstown, the “Bourbon Capital of the World,” is just one of the highlights you wonā€™t want to miss, complete with tastings, behind-the-scenes distillery tours, and exclusive bourbon seminars. And if youā€™re looking to amp up the excitement, Louisvilleā€™s Bourbon & Beyond music festival offers the perfect mix of world-class performances and bourbon experiences. Weā€™re here to make sure you have fun all the time, with access to limited-edition releases and special events that only our deep connections can provide.

What is Bourbon Heritage Month?

National Bourbon Heritage Month is celebrated in the United States. It honors bourbon as America’s “Native Spirit.” On August 2, 2007, the US Senate declared September as “National Bourbon Heritage Month.” The bill was sponsored by Republican Senator Jim Bunning of Kentucky and passed unanimously. The resolution encourages consumers to enjoy bourbon in a responsible and moderate manner. This bill reinforces the 1964 Act of Congress that recognized bourbon as “America’s Native Spirit.” It also emphasizes the family heritage, tradition, and legacy of the bourbon industry in the United States.
